New Flare Community Growth Grant recipients are announced

Flare Updates

Say congrats to our first eleven community grant recipients! These eleven teams will be finding creative ways to bring more people into the Flare ecosystem through hosting meetups, creating local-language content, running platform-specific campaigns, and sharing step-by-step guides for new users.

Now to introduce you to the teams and share details about their planned community initiatives.

Flare Japan

Flare Japan (@flarejapangroup) is a grassroots community hub for Japanese-speaking users passionate about Flare and blockchain.

Goal: The group seeks to organize Japanese-language meetups, content, and onboarding with the goal of bringing Flare to Japan.

Project description: Through regular events in Tokyo and Osaka, interactive AMAs, and in-depth guides on YouTube and X, Flare Japan’s content will cover everything from wallet setup to delegation and using FAssets, helping both newcomers and experienced users feel confident in the ecosystem.

Motivation: “We strongly believe that by drawing Japan's high level of technological literacy and interest in blockchain to Flare, we can contribute to the revitalization of the entire ecosystem.”

Flare Türkiye

Flare Türkiye (@TurkiyeFlare) is a dedicated group, run by long-time crypto enthusiast and community architect @hanturksc, that works to make Flare accessible to the Turkish crypto community

Goal: Connect with the Turkish community through local-language events, education, and regular updates.

Project description: Flare Türkiye will host meetups in major cities, run live AMAs, and translate Flare news, governance updates, and DeFi tutorials into Turkish to make technical concepts accessible to more users.

Motivation: “Building a community that doesn’t just follow, but understands and contributes.”

Flare Africa

Flare Africa (aka @FlareAfrica_) is an initiative to build a regional growth engine for Flare by onboarding, educating, and activating African developers, creators, and contributors.

Goal: Activate and grow the African Flare community through education, development support, and direct engagement.

Project description: Building a Telegram hub, creating starter kits for FTSO and FAssets, hosting bi-weekly Dev Hours, and partnering with universities to help local builders launch their first Flare-based projects.

Motivation: “Africa has immense potential in blockchain but lacks localized resources and communities. We started Flare Africa because we believe Flare's approach to real-world data connectivity can solve actual African problems — from agricultural data to financial inclusion.”

Flare Forward

Flare Forward is a group of experienced Flare enthusiasts dedicated to helping users understand and navigate dApps on Flare, with a specific focus on DeFi. It is run by three well-known and passionate Flare community members: @whale589, @AceThaGreatest, and @hudspeth589.

Goal: Make Flare DeFi accessible through structured learning resources and tools

Project description: Flare Forward’s DeFi University offers structured courses, interviews, and live sessions to teach DeFi concepts in a beginner-friendly way. The team is looking to support well informed Defi participation by featuring  a portfolio tracker that lets users monitor their assets, measure performance, and apply the strategies learned in DeFi University.

Motivation: “We believe education is the biggest barrier to crypto adoption. We are working to bridge the gap between technical complexities and user experience by finding easier ways to explain the technology. Our DeFi University seeks to empower users with knowledge to make better-informed decisions and eliminate the fear of trying DeFi for the first time.”

Flare Community

Flare Community (aka @CommunityFlare) is a content and news hub run by one of the ecosystem’s long-time supporters, dedicated to keeping users informed and engaged.

Goal: Provide consistent, high-quality Flare updates and educational content to help the community stay up to date and eager to participate.

Project description: Flare Community will build on 4+ years of experience producing step-by-step video tutorials, in-depth walkthroughs, and live Q&A sessions. Topics range from FLR rewards, wrapping, staking, and delegation to using a variety of ecosystem dApps. The project also delivers breaking news, security tips, and interactive community events like poker nights and quiz competitions, all designed to keep members engaged and informed.

Motivation: To let other people know what makes the network so special and why it should be of interest to the broader crypto community.”

Burstnodes FTSO

Burstnodes (@Burstnodes) is a content and education initiative run by longtime Flare community members and FTSO provider focused on simplifying Flare concepts and driving real-world adoption.

Goal: Produce a series of short, multilingual videos that make Flare easy to understand for new and existing users.

Project description: Burstnodes will create a series of 12 short, multilingual videos, called “Flare in 90 Seconds,” will explain key actions like minting FAssets, staking, and wallet setup. Each includes a call-to-action and is shared on YouTube, X, and TikTok. The six-month rollout begins with scripting and a pilot, then six episodes, followed by five more with expanded partner reach.

Motivation: “For most people, whether they’re crypto-curious or already holding XRP, BTC, or DOGE, the leap into DeFi feels like too much, too fast. The tools are unfamiliar. The risks seem high. And the jargon is overwhelming. Flare in 90 Seconds breaks that barrier.”

Flare en Español

Lava (aka @flareenespanol) is a Spanish-speaking content creator who has built a large crypto community on TikTok. With co-host CryptoView, he delivers Spanish-language content focused on XRP and Flare, making blockchain topics accessible to Latin American audiences.

Goal: Break down Flare concepts, tools, and updates in Spanish to make them accessible to audiences who are underserved in crypto, especially in Latin America.

Project Description: Lava will host weekly TikTok Lives, publish short educational videos on Flare tools, and organize in-person meetups (starting with an October 11 event in Orlando) to onboard Spanish-speaking users and grow an active Telegram community.

Motivation: “One of the biggest challenges I’ve seen is that Spanish speakers are often the last to be informed when it comes to crypto developments. There's a real language barrier that delays access to knowledge, tools, and opportunities — and I’m working to change that.”

Stephen

Stephen (aka @4AhomeLOAN) is a U.S.-based content creator and long-time Flare advocate (since 2020). He launched the #FlarEDUcation hashtag to share educational resources for FLR, XRP, and DOGE holders.

Goal: Educate the community on how to implement and benefit from new Flare projects.

Project description: Stephen will produce weekly videos, screenshots, and live sessions on YouTube and X to walk users through dApp usage, project rollouts, and ecosystem tools, making technical steps easy to follow.

Motivation: “I’m interested in initiatives that will help continue to educate, inform and advise community members on how to best leverage the token, benefit from hodling, and using the token to benefit the community overall.”

CJ

CJ Miller (aka @crypto_ceej) is a veteran content creator in the XRP community, with over 2,900 YouTube videos since 2017, plus an active presence on X. With a background in marketing, funnel building, and copywriting, CJ has built and led large sales and marketing teams while cultivating an audience of over 100,000 followers.

Goal: Produce frequent, high-quality videos and livestreams covering Flare, with a focus on Flare DeFi and XRPFi.

Project Description: CJ will create videos and host livestreams 5-6 days a week, delivering in-depth coverage, tutorials, and discussions around the Flare ecosystem, its DeFi protocols, and XRPFi.

Motivation: “I believe in Flare Networks Crypto ethos. True decentralization, True Security and True Scalability.”

Staaal Staalesen

Staaal Staalesen (aka @BrukerikkenavnJ) is a longtime Flare community member from Norway who creates graphics, memes, and short videos to help grow the Flare ecosystem. Staaal engages with audiences across Norway, Sweden, and Denmark.

Goal: Raise Flare awareness in Scandinavia through localized, multilingual content.

Project description: Staaal will produce weekly news updates in Norwegian, Swedish, and Danish, along with memes, videos and reward-claim reminders. He will also share community content with added visuals to keep users both informed and engaged.

Motivation: “There’s a massive untapped opportunity in Scandinavia. I speak Norwegian, Swedish, and Danish, and I’m uniquely positioned to connect with users, content creators, builders, and investors across the region. I want to help onboard these communities into the Flare ecosystem, not just as users, but as contributors.”

Street Flare Naija

Run by Smarty (aka @StreetFlareNG_), a community architect from Nigeria with a background in grassroots education. Street Flare Naija connects Flare with students, traders, and newcomers through relatable, street-level content.

Goal: To break down Web3 adoption barriers in Nigeria by making Flare approachable, practical, and appealing for everyday people.

Project description: Street Flare Naija is a grassroots initiative that brings Web3 and Flare to everyday Nigerians through campuses, marketplaces, and local communities. The project simplifies Web3 basics via street interviews, weekend online classes, campus meetups, and the “Flare for Normies” series. All content is then repurposed into short, engaging videos for TikTok and X to reach wider audiences.

Motivation: “I want to lead a Flare community initiative in Nigeria to help shift the negative narrative around Web3 and crypto, and to show that the Flare Network is not ‘too technical’ it’s for everyone.”
