One-Click DeFi Vault with Xaman, powered by Flare Smart Accounts & FAssets
Flare and Xaman are introducing a new DeFi access point for XRP holders — one that begins directly within an XRPL wallet.
Through Flare Smart Accounts, Xaman users can deposit XRP into a curated DeFi vault on Flare through a single, streamlined flow. The system abstracts asset representation, cross-chain execution, and strategy allocation, enabling access to DeFi yield without requiring users to leave XRPL environments or manage additional virtual assets.
This is a structural step forward for XRPFi that aligns liquidity, execution, and user experience.
Why this combination is powerful
Three infrastructure layers collectively enable XRP to function more fluidly within programmable finance.
- FAssets provide the liquidity foundation: A trust-minimized representation system enables XRP to be deployed across connected DeFi networks beyond Flare with verifiable backing and enforceable collateralization.
- Flare Smart Accounts introduce chain abstraction: Users initiate actions from XRPL wallets while computation and settlement occur on Flare. Complex cross-chain operations are coordinated automatically.
- Xaman contributes to the distribution and user interface layer: As one of the primary self-custodial wallets within the XRP ecosystem, Xaman provides the familiar and trusted wallet interface through which retail users can choose to access third-party financial functionality.
Robert Kiuru, COO, Xaman, said: "Xaman has always focused on giving XRP holders simple, secure tools. This integration lets our users explore new options directly from the wallet they already know, while keeping full control of their keys and decisions."
These components simplify what has historically been a fragmented, multi-step onboarding journey.
DeFi vault access directly from Xaman
Xaman users will be able to access Upshift’s curated earnXRP vault directly through the Flare Smart Accounts integration.
While the Xaman interface presents a simplified deposit experience, the underlying system coordinates several synchronized processes. Flare Smart Accounts abstract the full lifecycle required to deploy XRP into DeFi, including FXRP minting or redemption back to XRPL, vault allocation, and yield claiming.
These operations are initiated through a single XRP-signed transaction within the wallet, eliminating the need to manage additional wallets.
Once deposited, positions are deployed into Upshift’s vault strategies, where yield is generated and distributed in FXRP, providing users with a yield-bearing, verifiably represented form of their XRP exposure.
How earnXRP vault generates yield
Unlike single-source yield products, earnXRP is structured around diversified, on-chain capital deployment. FXRP deposited into the vault is allocated across multiple strategy layers, including liquidity provisioning, lending markets, collateralized borrowing systems, and structured yield positions. This diversified approach is designed to maintain yield consistency while reducing dependency on any single incentive program or market condition.

All allocations are executed transparently on-chain and governed within predefined vault parameters. Strategy construction, risk monitoring, and capital rebalancing are actively managed by Clearstar, the vault’s curator, under a risk-first deployment framework.
Yield generated through these activities is distributed in FXRP — either earned directly or compounded back into vault positions over time. While the vault may accumulate ecosystem incentives or protocol points through underlying deployments, these are treated as supplemental upside rather than the primary source of return.
Withdrawals are processed on-chain and typically settle within one to two days, reflecting the time required to unwind positions across underlying markets rather than fixed lockup periods.
Unlocking dormant XRP liquidity
Xaman currently provides access to roughly 2+ billion XRP, a liquidity surface that underscores the scale of dormant capital within the ecosystem. As Flare Co-Founder & CEO Hugo Philion has highlighted in prior discussions, much of this XRP has remained outside DeFi due to onboarding friction, tooling fragmentation, and execution complexity.
Accessing yield typically required XRP holders to download new wallets, learn unfamiliar chains, manually bridge assets, acquire gas tokens, and navigate protocol interfaces designed primarily for crypto-native users. These operational barriers have limited participation despite clear demand for productive onchain use of XRP.
Flare Smart Accounts remove this complexity at the infrastructure layer. No additional wallets, key generation, or recovery phrases are required, bridging is handled in the background, and gas is managed within the execution flow.
This makes DeFi yield more accessible and expands participation while preserving the custody and user experience XRP holders already trust.
How it works
Flare Smart Accounts operate through intent-based execution architecture.

When a user deposits from their XRPL wallet, the transaction includes both payment data and an embedded instruction describing the desired outcome (e.g. allocating XRP into a specific vault strategy).
The transaction is observed and verified via the Flare Data Connector (FDC), which attests to activity on the XRPL. Once validated, Smart Account controllers execute the operations on Flare: minting FXRP, allocating assets, and interacting with DeFi protocols on the user’s behalf.
Execution occurs entirely on Flare, while user authorization stays anchored to XRPL signatures, allowing XRP holders to access programmable finance without relinquishing custody or operational familiarity. The process is fully non‑custodial, with funds always under the control of the user’s XRPL account, which governs their associated Flare Smart Account.
Building the execution layer for XRPFi
This launch advances a broader objective: positioning Flare as the default execution layer for XRPFi. By combining trust-minimized asset representation through FAssets, chain-abstracted execution via Smart Accounts, and wallet-native access through Xaman, Flare is establishing an end-to-end XRPFi access stack capable of supporting both retail participation and institutional strategy deployment.
The timing reflects accelerating momentum across this infrastructure. FXRP has now surpassed 100 million minted supply, with the majority already deployed across lending markets, collateral systems, and vault strategies. Demand for structured products continues to grow, with vehicles such as Firelight seeing strong participation and increasing their staked FXRP cap along the way. Together, these indicators signal a transition from experimental liquidity to production-grade capital rails. Increasingly, FXRP is functioning not simply as a bridge or yield product, but as programmable infrastructure which XRP can integrate across protocols, platforms, and institutional environments.
As Smart Accounts expand to more wallets, assets, and DeFi integrations, XRPFi’s growth will be driven by simplicity, not complexity — where FXRP, smart contract execution, and yield come together as seamless financial infrastructure, accessible directly from XRPL-native experiences.
