Doge comes to FAssets Open Beta

Flare is pleased to announce that testDOGE can now be bridged to Flare’s Coston Network as FTestDOGE.

As of today, users can head over to FAssets Beta to start testing the newly supported Dogecoin by minting, redeeming, and providing collateral. Those who participate will be eligible for Retroactive airdrop rewards. To further enhance the experience, we’ve also made improvements to the platform’s UI that will make it easier than ever to navigate.

Let’s get started.

Step-by-Step Guide

Here’s what you need to know in order to mint and redeem FTestDoge, and provide collateral to the FTestDoge pool. You’ll be using Bifrost Wallet for these steps.

1. First, enable ‘Developer Mode’ in your Bifrost Wallet to connect. Head to Settings > Preferences > Advanced, then toggle on Developer Mode.

2. Under ‘Receive’ on the Bifrost Wallet, add Dogecoin by selecting the ‘Dogecoin (DOGE)’ option.

3. Next, you’ll need testDOGE – head over to the faucet to claim some: https://faucet.doge.toys/

4. Click on the ‘Mint’ tab on the FAssets Beta UI.

5. Decide the number of lots to mint. Users can mint as many lots as they wish, with each lot equaling 100 DOGE.

6. Auto-select agent (or choose an agent of your choice).

7. Select ‘Mint’ to complete the process.

Note that to redeem, you will follow similar steps outlined above – the FAssets dashboard will guide you. It should take around one hour for minting, and around one hour for redeeming. This is due to Doge chain confirmation times.

FAssets UI Updates

The UI improvements made to the FAssets Open Beta dashboard will make it easier to participate.. Here are the latest updates:

  • New Design: The home page and dashboard have a more streamlined feel that should make it easier to navigate.
  • More Detailed View: The dashboard now provides more detailed information about FAssets – lots available to mint, number of mints, number of total FAssets holders.
  • Collateral Info: It’s easier than ever to keep track of overall collateral in the system.
  • Pool Info: More insights provided on each FAssets pool to better inform pool participation decisions.
  • Enhanced Stats: Track and monitor stats on mints, redemptions, and pools in more detail.

For any further questions, please join the Flare FAssets Open Beta Support group. We’re excited for Flare users to experiment with Doge on FAssets Open Beta. Not only will it help the Flare team as we prepare for the FAssets mainnet launch, but it will also acclimate early users to the platform and reward them with rewards from Retroactive airdrops.
