Are you ready to craft, network, and compete with the best in the heart of London’s Ethereum community? If so, join us at the ETH London Hackathon, an in-person hackathon focused on decentralized technology, particularly within the Ethereum ecosystem.
Flare is teaming up with Encode to organize our hackathon at ETH London. This hackathon is perfect for anyone looking to build and develop in web3, receive guidance from protocol teams, and win bounties. Participating partners include Flare, Near, Tezos, Etherspot, Hyperlane, and more. Registration is open, so register now. You can sign up as an individual or a team.
Flare is the Blockchain for Data
Flare increases what is possible with blockchain by natively providing data at scale, for minimal cost and in a decentralized manner – we call this data provision as a public good.
With decentralized oracles built into the structure of the network, Flare is the only smart contract platform optimized for decentralized data acquisition – price & time series data, blockchain event & state data, and web2 API data:
- The State Connector: This allows Flare to reach consensus on event information from external blockchains and web2 APIs, enabling it to be used trustlessly in smart contracts on Flare.
- The Flare Time Series Oracle: This delivers highly decentralized price and data feeds to dApps on Flare without relying on centralized providers.
Hackathon Tracks and Challenges
Explore the diverse tracks and challenges with a total of $11k of prizes available. Winners will also have the opportunity to receive support from the Flare Ecosystem Support Program to advance their projects.
SocialFi – $3.5K
Show the world how powerful social media owned by its community can be. Build a dapp that leverages the MPC + Account Abstraction stack, enabling users to create and monetize their content, identity, and reputation.
DeFi – $3k
Build a DeFi application that utilizes the Flare Time Series Oracle, the native oracle for time series data such as cryptocurrency prices.
Open Track/ Pool Prizes – $3.5k
Build your first dapp on Flare for any use case, whether it’s gaming, NFTs, security, AI, or something else entirely. Let your creativity shine and surprise us with your ideas.
No-code Challenge – $1k
Create captivating educational content to spread the word about Flare. Content formats can include memes, videos, articles, tutorials, blogs, or Twitter threads.
Workshops
As part of the hackathon, you will get access to workshops, mentorship, and resources to help you along the way. One of the workshops will be on building a dapp on Flare using its inbuilt oracles, presented by Filip Koprivec, Senior Solidity Engineer at Flare.
“Flare makes blockchain more useful. It offers a scalable, low-cost, and interoperable platform for building any kind of decentralized application. I’m excited to share how you can easily use Flare’s inbuilt oracles to access reliable and decentralized data directly from your smart contracts.” – Filip Koprivec
When and where?
The hackathon will take place from 27 to 29 October at 8 Northumberland Avenue in London. You will need to bring your own laptop and charger. Food and drinks will be provided.
You can also join the Encode Telegram and Flare Discord to stay updated and chat with other participants and mentors.
Dive into the ETH London Hackathon with Flare and unleash your creativity and coding talent. Remember, sleep is optional, but trying something new is not.
