Position Overview: The DeFi Analyst role at Flare is an internally focused position that supports the Ecosystem team through detailed DeFi research, protocol analysis, and operational support. This role requires strong knowledge of decentralized finance, including emerging lending protocols and ecosystem trends. As an in-house DeFi analyst, the candidate will conduct on-chain research, explore new opportunities, and contribute to internal strategy. Rather than managing partnerships or closing deals, this role strengthens the foundation of Flare’s ecosystem through insight and execution.

Reports to: Head of Business Development

Location: Remote (with overlapping hours with UAE and USA)

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:

Ecosystem Support & Research:

  • Conduct in-depth on-chain analysis of DeFi protocols, including lending platforms and emerging infrastructure.

  • Explore and evaluate new project opportunities, trends, and technologies relevant to Flare’s ecosystem.

  • Maintain internal analysis of DeFi activity, identifying patterns, risks, and strategic insights.

  • Contribute to the execution of ecosystem growth initiatives and support the onboarding of new projects building on Flare.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product and engineering to support successful dApp launches using Flare protocols.

  • Support the growth of our grants program by sourcing and evaluating high-quality projects that align with Flare’s strategic objectives.

DeFi Oversight & Protocol Analysis:

  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of Flare-native protocols.
  • Support the Ecosystem team by monitoring and reporting on DeFi integrations.
  • Serve as an internal resource for DeFi-related inquiries, supporting technical and strategic discussions.
  • Stay hyper-plugged into new crypto developments, industry trends, and emerging use cases to identify opportunities where Flare can add unique value.

Collaboration & Internal Alignment:

  • Contribute to internal planning sessions by surfacing relevant data, trends, and opportunities within DeFi.
  • Partner with marketing to execute educational and promotional campaigns focused on Flare’s capabilities.
  • Coordinate with the product and engineering teams to align ecosystem growth with protocol development.


Role Requirements:

  • DEFI: Strong understanding of decentralised finance (DeFi), including lending protocols and ecosystem dynamics
  • Research: Proficiency in conducting on-chain research and interpreting blockchain data to support growth strategies.
  • Technical Understanding: Familiarity with Flare, blockchain architecture, DeFi protocols, and analytics tools.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Comfortable working as a resource within a remote-based collaborative environment.
  • Support: Ability to support internal teams with strategic insights and operational execution
  • Exploration: Skilled in identifying and evaluating new DeFi opportunities and trends

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in blockchain technology and eagerness to learn about crypto.
  • Hyper-glued to new crypto developments and industry trends, with a strong understanding of how emerging trends can intersect with Flare's capabilities.
  • Familiarity with all the new dApps and budding ecosystem L1s and L2s, along with the respective dApps that are seeing growth.
  • Familiarity with ecosystem flywheels, developer engagement strategies, and protocol adoption mechanics
