Description

The Comptroller at Flare Networks reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for managing the company's comprehensive accounting functions. This includes meticulous bookkeeping across multiple entities, managing and auditing vendor payments, and ensuring financial processes are efficient and compliant. The ideal candidate is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in managing complex financial systems and optimizing financial operations in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Report to COO to provide insight on operations costs and plan (and negotiate) streamlining initiatives.
  • Oversee the accounting operations of various entities within Flare Networks, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Managing Flare Networks’ outside accounting vendors to ensure the timely generation of annual investor-looking statements.
  • Implement and maintain rigorous bookkeeping practices to accurately track financial transactions across different projects and entities within the organization.
  • Manage payroll and vendor payments, including the verification, processing, and reconciliation of transactions in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard financial assets, improve operational efficiency, and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate comprehensive annual audits, ensuring all financial operations are transparent and compliant with international accounting standards.
  • Provide strategic financial insights and analyses to support executive decision-making, budgeting, and financial planning processes.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry best practices in financial management, applying this knowledge to improve and streamline accounting operations.

Role Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a CPA or similar qualification highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, with at least 2 years focused on blockchain or cryptocurrency sectors.
  • Proven experience in managing bookkeeping and financial operations across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
  • Strong expertise in financial software, accounting frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, with the proficiency to present complex financial information clearly and persuasively.
