Your Role

APAC Growth Lead is a pivotal, high-impact role at the forefront of Flare’s expansion across Asia, with a primary focus on Korea and Japan. As a key driver of our regional strategy, you’ll draw deeply on your personal network of industry contacts — your own Rolodex of builders, influencers, partners, and decision-makers — to accelerate adoption and build a thriving ecosystem.

This is a dynamic, cross-functional role that spans ecosystem development, strategic partnerships, community engagement, and market entry. The primary responsibility of this role is to build, nurture, and manage relationships in Japan, Korea and the APAC region. You'll be the face of Flare, initiating meaningful relationships and uncovering new opportunities that align with our broader global growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

  • Business & Market Development
  • Boots on the ground - Develop and execute a quarterly business development strategy tailored to Asian markets.
  • Use your contacts within the industry to identify and onboard high-potential dApps, securing at least 3 per quarter in priority regions like Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia.
  • Bring Flare to the community you know by launching and scaling Flare's presence in two new Asian markets annually through strategic partnerships with onramps, wallets, and exchanges.
  • Lead initiatives that drive measurable user adoption — targeting a 30% increase in Korea and Japan within 12 months.
  • Maintain a structured business development roadmap and track all pipeline activities in a transparent, team-accessible format.

Partner Relations & Strategic Alignment

  • Forge and maintain strong relationships with key partners and ecosystem leaders, ensuring alignment across long-term objectives.
  • Establish and maintain a formal partner relationship management system, with bi-weekly check-ins and transparent metrics.
  • Organize quarterly regional partner summits to foster collaboration, showcase ecosystem growth, and identify integration opportunities.
  • Actively negotiate and close partnerships that deliver strategic value, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes and long-term growth.

Community & Ecosystem Engagement

  • Collaborate with Flare community managers to nurture strong relationships with both retail and developer communities.
  • Expand the regional community management team by three within six months and recruit 20 retail ambassadors in the first 4 months, followed by developer ambassadors.
  • Leverage existing networks and cultivate new ones to initiate discovery conversations, spark collaboration, and encourage organic ecosystem expansion.

Event Strategy & Representation

  • Represent Flare at a minimum of six major industry events annually, with a focus on high-value networking and regional visibility.
  • Lead the planning and execution of two Flare-hosted events in Asia per year, working cross-functionally with events and community teams.
  • Identify key industry events and coordinate Flare’s participation, ensuring seamless logistics, high-quality representation, and strategic media engagement.

 Public Relations & Marketing Collaboration

  • Work closely with the marketing team to strategise and execute regional PR, KOL, and influencer campaigns.
  • Serve as a primary contact for media inquiries and coordinate interviews, press releases, and other marketing activities.
  • Drive a 20% increase in Flare’s share of voice in Asian crypto media over the next 12 months.
  • Actively promote Flare through thought leadership, public appearances, and brand-aligned storytelling across multiple channels.

Role Requirements

  • Ruthlessly assertive self-starter with the ability to think independantly, make decisions and execute efficiently.
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or ecosystem growth, preferably in Web3, fintech, or related tech sectors.
  • Proven track record of growth execution in the APAC region, particularly Korea and Japan, with an emphasis on local relationships and market understanding.
  • Deep existing network of founders, builders, exchanges, onramps, wallets, and other strategic players in Asian crypto markets.
  • Experience driving user and developer adoption through partnerships, events, community programs, and ecosystem engagement.
  • Prior success in building and managing cross-functional, multi-regional teams.
  • Demonstrated understanding of cultural dynamics, consumer behavior, and regulatory environments in Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia.
  • Language proficiency in Korean and/or Japanese highly preferred; strong cross-cultural communication skills required. 
  • Comfortable being “boots on the ground” — traveling frequently, attending local events, and engaging face-to-face with community and industry stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach, able to anticipate needs and address them.
  • Strategic thinker with a knack for spotting growth opportunities.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
